Agriculture developments and evolution is happening since the time agriculture practices started, but it has gained tremendous speed since the invention of agriculture tech. Agricultural instruments, machines, and management techniques are part of these evolutions. The most remarkable transformation in farm management has been proved with agriculture software. Earlier, farmers were compulsory dependent on their experiences and traditional methods while growing a particular crop. The dynamic nature and changing climate have resulted in false predictions and substantial economic and agricultural losses. This intensified the need to develop agriculture tech tools that help farmers in better agricultural outputs.

Agriculture tech has the scope to develop solutions for each process in the agricultural lifecycle as the end product quality and quantity are affected at each stage. There are solutions available from seed management, irrigation, soil quality maintenance to harvesting and transportation management. One step ahead, agriculture tech has also given farmers access to the market updates and trends that provides insights into crop strategies. Farmers now can choose crops suitable for their land depending on market demands and possible optimum returns.

Agriculture tech and agriculture software go hand in hand as technology provides inputs and software analyses and provides meaningful insights. For example, Sensors deployed in the field as a part of a wireless sensor network collect data depending on various sensors such as soil texture, moisture, nutrients, and temperature. All this data is preprocessed and then transferred to the agriculture software, where data is analyzed to extract patterns, structures, or meaningful information. Also, weather/ climate data at the particular land locations are traced, and accordingly, crop and seed suggestions are provided to the farmer. Moreover, sensors keep monitoring and tracing the crop growth, nutrients, water stress, soil quality, pest attacks, crop health, and so forth. Real-time monitoring helps farmers take action before crops are damaged partially or entirely. Early actions on crop damage maintain productivity at a minimal cost.

Agriculture software keeps alerting farmers about farming activities or also in case of any immediate actions are required. Such suggestions result from collected historical data and big data analytics inbuilt in modern agriculture tech software platforms. Farmers are the ones who will be the most benefitted from agriculture tech. With an increasing number of farmers adopting modern agriculture tech, massive data will be available to enhance agriculture software’s accuracy in providing suggestions to farmers worldwide. Thus, there should be no doubt that the crucial role of agriculture software is to alter conventional farming practices into more scientific and data-driven smart farming.
